Oh…That famous photograph on the cover of National Geographic so many years ago……of the “Afghan girl” with those memorizing eyes. The photographer was Steve McCurry, and I was reminded of it the other day on a blog post by Richard Burn. Two years ago I was lucky enough to see the actual photograph in a special visit to the archives of the George Eastman House Museum of Photography in Rochester New York. What an amazing photograph! The following video link is from national geographic and it’s about how they found the girl years later. Photography students will love this! Add Comment Photography teachers will love this! A four year old Seattle cat by the name of Cooper the Cat goes out once a week with a small digital camera attached to his collar. The camera snaps a photo every 2 minutes, giving his owners a view into Cooper world. Along with the standard photos of the neighborhood, Cooper snaps shots many photographers would be jealous of. His photos, now in a new book, were even part of an exhibit at The Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum in Chicago. View more of his photos on his Flicker page |
