The National Veterans Art Museum is dedicated to artwork created by Veterans of all wars. On this Memorial Day weekend we/I celebrate the service of our soldiers and that service of my husband who is a veteran of the Vietnam War. The artwork found here is compelling, moving and poignant. There are many examples of artwork that would be useful for the art classroom. I use many prompts within my teaching of art and since many of my high school students are from military families, war has had a profound effect within their lives. It becomes a stimulus and outlet within their artwork. The images from The National Veterans Art Museum are worth the visit. Remember to say thank you to a veteran this weekend!
