Within Boundless a variety of subject areas exist which give teachers and students endless options within their teaching and learning. The Art History online book I got free is awesome! Can’t wait to share with my students!
Modern Lessons is a excellent free online site that offers an assortment of mini courses for anyone interested in beefing up their Tech skills. Teachers will especially love Modern Lessons free offerings on just about anything technology that might relate to classroom use. Some of the offerings are as follows; Using Learnist, Pinterest, Google Tools, Intro to using Ipads in Education, and tons more! What a great learning opportunity!
I came across this fascinating video describing a texture and marbleizing process on paper. The Artist mixes alcohol and acrylic paint to create the most amazing textures and patterns! OMG! I can’t wait to try this simple but cool process with my students. I envision using it as background within still life, in sketchbooks, and drawing on the finished pieces.
Sometimes you just need a rhyming word! Are you stuck when writing poetry, a song, or the storyboard for a parody video? Try Rhyme Zone! It’s the online place to go for groupings of rhyming words. The site is simple to use and quite productive. Just plug in a word and Rhyme Zone’s site will bring up a whole list of assorted words that rhyme with the word you put in! Nifty!
Try out free online site Popling to create visually stimulating learning tools. Popling allows its users to create online study tools that include, questions, images and answers in an easy to read and embeddable format. It’s simple to create a Popling, and they are a powerful way to stimulate vocabulary meaning and retention. In the Visual Art classroom I would use Popling tools for art history, media & tool description and uses, and art vocabulary. Video tutorial here......Great tool!

Questbase is a free cloud based learning tool to be used by Teachers & Students alike. It allows teachers to create, grade, and publish exams, assorted assessments, surveys, simple quizzes, and student feedback forms online. For students Questbase is a place to study, analyze and assess with a series of online cloud based learning tools.
Flipboard is an exceptional Magazine App for Tablet and Smart Phone use. I don’t go a day without reading from Flipboard on my Ipad. All my want to read items like news, blogs, art content, RSS feeds, Facebook, and Twitter, are all inclusive within the versatile App! I can tweet, share, email and facebook from Flipboard . It’s just a wonderful useful tool! But……Now, new on Flipboard, you can even curate your own Magazine. Check out this video for more information and directions. A must have tool for all educators.
Need a summer art project? I came across wonderful Faux Sun Prints creations done with kids on Craftimints and they are a blast to create! Using real plant-life, insects, acrylic paint, water, heat and evaporation, these amazing negative images on fabric will come to life. You will love this K-12 lesson and you will totally enjoy the Craftiments site as a future Art Ed resource.
